Despacito by Puerto Rican singer Luis Fonsi, and Daddy Yankee became the song that was streamed the most within less than six weeks. The song was a mix of pop and reggaeton which not only brought attention to Latin Music, but also reggaeton. The Billboard Top 100 featured two songs that were Spanish generally, and four in 2016. The Despacito album reached its peak popularity in 2017, 19 songs mainly in Spanish reached into the Top 100. This number rose to 41 in 2020. Justin Bieber remixed Despacito 2017 in a bilingual version. Then, various artistes collaborated with Reggaeton's biggest stars including Drake and Bad Bunny with MIA (2018), Madonna and Maluma with Medellin 2019 In 2020, several Reggaeton artists were complaining about the trend of their genre to the mainstream. However, a younger generation such as Rauw Alejandro was determined to maintain the development. He incorporated electronic dance styles as well as other styles into his music.
